Upcoming this weekend is the Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show – the premiere consumer event in the nation for cooking and entertaining enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.  Dining in DC is an official sponsor and will there both Saturday and Sunday to particiapte in this flagship event.  Admission includes entry to more than 250 exhibitors, live cooking demonstrations by nationally renowned chefs, tasting and entertaining workshops, plus presentations from Food Network celebrities Paula Deen, Giada De Laurentiis, Tyler Florence, Guy Fieri and the Neelys. Don’t miss the chance to see DC’s Hottest chefs such as, Cathal Armstrong, Bryan Voltaggio, RJ Cooper, Barton Seaver, David Deshaies, Mike Isabella, Victor Albisu, Jamie Leeds, and Robert Wiedmaier. This is a one-of-a kind event for anyone who loves to cook or entertain.

Sunday, October 8, 2009: Mad Men Viewing Party at Hook in Georgetown

Georgetown seafood restaurant Hook is hosting Hooked on ‘Mad Men’, a viewing party with period cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and the episode playing on a pair of large flat-screen TVs. In keeping with the traditional libations of 1963, on Sunday, November 8th from 8 p.m. to closing, Hook will be offering specially priced classic cocktails like Martinis, Old Fashions, Manhattans, Side Cars, etc. and serving hors d’oeuvres. From 10-11, the bar’s two large flat screen TVs will be tuned into the Mad Men finale—so guests can enjoy the culmination of what already has been a climactic season…in style. Fedoras, pencil skirts, brief cases and thin ties welcome.

Thursday, November 12th 7 pm: Harpoon Beer Dinner at the Melting Pot in Dupont Circle!

Mastering the New Orleans Classics Holiday Cooking Class at Acadiana
Acadiana’s Executive Chef Brant Tesky shows you how to make classic dishes from the Crescent City and offers inspiration for your own holiday meals! Menu includes oyster rockefeller bisque, cajun fried turkey accompanied by sweet potato puree, smothered green beans, and andouille cornbread stuffing with giblet gravy. Dessert, of course is pecan pie!  $75 per person.

PINK JAMS! is proud to present the Justin Trawick Group and Memphis 59 for the  first breast cancer benefit concert at the Clarendon Ballroom with special guest and Emcee Kate Marie Grinold (Miss DC 2008) and the Washington Redskin Cheerleaders. Besides an amazing live music show, there will a raffle of over a dozen items fantastic including autographed sports jerseys, Sirius and XM radios, band memorabilia, dining and shopping gift certificates, jewelry, and more!  All net proceeds go to support Pink Jams! and the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer!
