More DC Area Restaurant Closings

It’s not surprising that there have been more and more announcements of restaurants closing in the DC area.
Le Paradou is a done deal. Le Paradou was an expensive place to dine. Even though diners were pleased with their meals it’s hard to dine out often to expensive places often.
Roberto Donna’s Bebo in Crystal City closed earlier this month, most likely due to customers unwilling to return due to poor service. Also on the streets, the word is that Mark and Orlando’s in Dupont Circle (2020 P St. NW) is closing, after less than five years.

A few days ago, Farrah Olivia announced that they were “moving” and plan to relocate to a new location within one year.

For a restaurant to survive during the “Great Recession” restaurants will need to do three things:

  1. Focus on good service. Being consistent. Good service to every customer. Let every diner go away satisfied.
  2. Offer good quality food. Everything on the menu should be the best quality that the restaurant can afford to offer.
  3. Offer a good value for the diners money. Even if the meal is a little pricey, it has be worth the extra cost.
